Property douments Hiding by sibling
Hi Sir,
After my parents expired my sister hide all the properties documents and has been threating us for extra money and property. Please suggest what can we do
A.Dear Client,
File a Police Complaint: If your sister has unlawfully hidden or taken possession of the property documents, you can file a police complaint against her for theft or criminal breach of trust under the Indian Penal Code 1860. Provide any evidence or witnesses that can support your claim.
Initiate a Civil Suit: If your sister refuses to return the property documents and continues to threaten you, you may need to initiate a civil suit in the appropriate court. The court can order the return of the documents and provide remedies for any losses or damages caused.
Obtain Legal Injunction: seek an injunction from the court to prevent your sister from disposing of the property or causing further harm until the legal matter is resolved.
Evidence Gathering: Gather any evidence you have of your rightful ownership of the property, such as sale deeds, wills, or any other relevant documents. These documents can be vital in supporting your case.
Thank You
