A.Hi,
Can you please give some more details that why are they charging so? Was something like this mentioned earlier ? If you think that such charges are not justified, then you write the same to the college authority, you can prepare a mass petition.
If this does not work, you can move ahead with cases.

Thanks and Regards

A.Dear Client,
If the notice of July is effective from the 16th of August 2023, then the imposition of the fine can not be objected or protested irrespective of starting of the academic year from the 4th Sept, 2023, So, go through carefully the contents of the notification and if anything appears arbitrary or inconsistent, then you can escalate your grievance before the college authority collectively through mass petition.

A.If the fines in question pertain to any potential back payments from the previous year, it is plausible that there might be a legitimate basis for their imposition. However, to offer a more comprehensive assessment, I would kindly request that you furnish me with additional pertinent details surrounding the context and nature of these fines. This will enable me to provide you with a more refined analysis and recommendations that align with your circumstances.

A.Dear Client,
The appropriateness of imposing fines before the official start of the academic year can depend on the policies and regulations of your college, as well as the laws in your jurisdiction. It's important to consider a few factors in this situation:

College Policies and Regulations: Review your college's rules, regulations, and policies. They should outline the conditions under which fines can be imposed, including the timing of such fines. If the college has specified that fines can be levied before the start of the academic year, then they may be within their rights to do so.

Notice Period: If the college notified you about the fines in July and the fines were imposed starting from August 16th, they have provided a notice period. A reasonable notice period allows students to adjust to new policies and make necessary arrangements.

Reasonableness of the Fine: Consider whether the amount of the fine is reasonable in relation to the infraction or issue at hand. Colleges should generally avoid imposing fines that are excessive or punitive.

Appeal Process: Check if your college has an appeals process for fines. If you believe the fine is unfair or unjustified, you may be able to appeal the decision through the appropriate channels.

Communication: If you have concerns about the fines being imposed before the academic year starts, consider discussing your concerns with college administrators or student services. Open communication might help clarify the reasons behind the decision and provide you with more context.

Collective Action: If a significant number of students are concerned about the fines, you might consider raising your concerns collectively with student representatives, student unions, or other relevant bodies within the college.

Thanks
