A.Dear client,
Currently, there are no effective laws in India to regulate the adoption of dogs in India.
People who give away or sell their animal generally have no further legal rights to that animal. The person who adopted the animal or purchased the animal does not typically have to return the animal unless there was an agreement that stated otherwise. People who believe their animal is being wrongfully withheld can sue to try to get the animal returned. The court will consider the evidence and make a determination.

A.Dear Client,
In India, pets are often considered as personal property, and if someone has taken possession of your puppy without your consent and is refusing to return it, you may have legal options to recover your pet. Here are some steps you might consider:

Open Communication:
Begin by attempting to communicate with the person who has your puppy. Explain your emotional attachment and your desire to have your pet back.
Gather Evidence:

Collect evidence of ownership, such as photographs, veterinary records, and any other documents that establish your ownership of the puppy.

Demand Letter:
Send a formal demand letter requesting the return of your puppy. This letter should clearly state your ownership of the pet, your reasons for wanting it back, and a reasonable timeframe for the return.

Mediation:
If direct communication doesn't yield results, consider involving a neutral third party, like a mutual friend or family member, to mediate the situation and help facilitate the return of the puppy.

Legal Action:
If your efforts to negotiate and mediate are unsuccessful, you might consider taking legal action. In India, pets are considered personal property, and if someone has taken possession of your pet without your consent, it could potentially be considered theft or wrongful possession.

Filing a Police Complaint:
You might consider filing a complaint with your local police station. Provide all evidence of ownership and the circumstances surrounding the situation.

Civil Court Action:
If the police are unable to help, you might explore the option of filing a civil lawsuit to recover your pet. While it's less common to go to court for such cases, you can claim possession of your property (the puppy) based on evidence of ownership.
Thanks
