Ews certificate

The property on which we reside is more then 1000 sq ft but it is not malkiyat. We have only power of attorney can i apply for ews cerificate??
A.Dear Client,
To be classified under EWS Category, the candidate's other than SC, ST or OBC, annual family income must be less than Rs. 8 lakhs per annum. Their family must not own more than 5 acres of agricultural land and the residential flat area collectively should be below 1000 sq ft. Being the above qualifying criteria, if you find yourself eligible for EWS Certificate then you can apply for the same. However, you may enquire about the matter with the concerned competent authority, like, DM/SDM, Tehsildar for further clarification in this regard
