The reservation provisions in the state of Karnataka, as per Article 371J, are primarily related to educational and employment opportunities for individuals belonging to certain specified regions, such as the Hyderabad-Karnataka region. These provisions aim to ensure equitable development and opportunities for the people of the region.

Regarding the specific reservation percentages you mentioned (15% and 27%), it is important to note that these percentages may be applicable for certain categories, such as seats in educational institutions or job opportunities, within the specified region and for eligible candidates.

A.Dear Client,
Reservation to the SCs. STs and OBCs in case of direct recruitment on all India basis by open competition is given at the rate of 15%, 7.5% and 27% respectively. Persons who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs, and OBCs and whose family has a gross annual income below Rs 8 lakh are only identified as EWSs for the benefit of reservation. If your income is above 8 lakh, you are treated as a Creamy Layer candidate and you can't get an OBC certificate. You will be treated as an OC candidate at the central level even though you are a BC candidate at the state level. In order to qualify as an OBC non-creamy layer candidate, the applicant's parents' annual income should be less than Rs. 8 lakhs.
