Education Loan Education Loan

I am writing to bring to your attention a matter of utmost concern regarding the harassment and lack of action on the part of Canara Bank Regional Office vellore in the matter of my education loan repayment.

On 13th May, Mr. Maiyappan, claiming to be from Canara Bank Vellore SME Branch, visited my mother's office during working hours, stating that he was sent for the loan recovery by the bank manager. Despite my efforts to resolve the issue, no action has been taken by the bank to address the harassment I have faced.

To provide a brief overview, I repaid my education loan in full on 26-03-2015, after attending Lok Adalat. However, the bank failed to close the loan from their end and is now demanding an additional amount of approximately Rs 3,07,511, claiming that the previous payments were made to my account and not towards the loan. This discrepancy is a result of an error made by the bank manager and cashier, and despite providing proof, no corrective action has been taken.

Moreover, I have been subjected to continuous harassment, with recovery agents sent to both my office address and my mother's address. The situation escalated when a recovery agent visited my mother's workplace and falsely claimed that the education loan had not been paid. I have already communicated this issue to the bank manager through email, but regrettably, no action has been taken to address the harassment and resolve the underlying problem.

A.Dear Client,
In the prevailing situation, make a written complaint over alleged harassment by the recovery agents for non-payment of the outstanding loan to the concerned lender that sanctioned your education loan which was already repaid by you, and file an online complaint for the same cause of action to the Grievance Cell of RBI in the web link: https://cms.rbi.org.in/cms or contact RBI Toll-Free Number 14448 and lodge a complaint over alleged harassment by recovery agents of the concerned lender. Alternatively, an email can be sent to [email protected]. If these efforts yield no result, get in touch with an Advocate for guidance and steps.

A.Dear Client
Draft a formal complaint letter addressed to the Canara Bank Regional Manager, detailing the issue comprehensively and requesting an immediate resolution. Ensure to include all relevant details such as dates, loan account numbers, and interactions with the recovery agents.Consider reaching out to higher authorities within Canara Bank, such as the Chief Manager or the Grievance Redressal Officer, if the issue remains unresolved after contacting the Regional Manager.
