Mesne Profit

I as tenant filled an appeal in high court for stay against the eviction order for me by the lower courts. I got the stay and first discussion on that case will be in coming July 2019 but meanwhile in the stay order high court gave the power to the landlord to file suit for MESNE PROFIT which the landlord as filled. I am not financially viable to pay any amount for mesne profit and have paid every month rent till date on time. I want to surrender the possession of shop back to the landlord and want remedy against the mesne profit. Mesne profit discussion will be starting in coming month.
Kindly guide how can I save myself from this.
