A.Dear Client,
A standalone cancelled cheque cannot establish your claim against the person to whom you lend the money. You can serve a legal notice to your friend demanding refund of your loan and if the notice does not work, chance of getting back the money from your friend is almost remote even through litigation.

A.Dear Client,
File a recovery suit under Order IV of CPC if you have any proof by which you can establish in court that you lended him money. If you don't have any proof, try to collect one by any means, videography, text messaging, telephonic conversation etc. If you have lent money to a friend and he is refusing to repay, having evidence such as a cancelled check can strengthen your case if you decide to pursue legal action. To initiate legal proceedings, you may consider sending a formal demand letter to your friend, outlining the details of the loan, the amount owed, and a request for repayment within a specified timeframe. If your friend remains unresponsive, consulting with a legal professional would be advisable.
The cancelled check serves as a valuable piece of evidence in demonstrating the transaction. Your legal advisor can guide you on the appropriate legal actions, which may include filing a small claims case or a civil suit depending on the amount involved. Keep all relevant documentation, including any communication regarding the loan, as it can contribute to the strength of your case.
Thankyou
