Iam a 22 years old adult. Iam being mentally and psychologically harrassed by my parents. They don't themselves have good relation between them but they are very authoritative towards me. Currently i live in pg and studing law. But they are constantly talking about cuz they are sending money so iam studying so i need to listen to them and not allowed to keep my opinions. I am at a stage where i can't deal with it anymore and stop using their money for studies. And don't want to go back to them. But there is a chance that they can drag me back to home and physically and mentally torture me. Please advise me how can I protect myself legally. And stay separately from them.

A.Dear Client,
I'm not a legal expert, but if you're facing harassment and seeking legal protection, consider these steps:
1.Consult with a Lawyer:Seek legal advice from a professional who specializes in family or harassment law. They can guide you on the legal options available based on your circumstances.
2.Document the Harassment:Keep a record of instances of harassment, including dates, times, and descriptions. This documentation can serve as evidence if legal action is required.
3.Financial Independence:Work towards financial independence by exploring part-time employment or seeking financial aid for your studies. This can help reduce dependency on your parents.
4.Secure a Safe Place:If you feel your safety is at risk, consider staying in a safe location, such as your PG accommodation or with a trusted friend, while exploring legal options.
5.Restraining Order:In severe cases, consult with your lawyer about obtaining a restraining order to prevent your parents from approaching or contacting you.
6.Emergency Helplines:Familiarize yourself with local helplines or NGOs that deal with domestic abuse. They can provide immediate assistance and guidance.
7.Student Services: Reach out to student services at your law school. They may offer support and resources to help you navigate through challenging situations.
It's important to consult with a legal professional who can provide advice tailored to your specific circumstances. They can guide you on the best course of action to ensure your safety and well-being
Thankyou.
