Flat sublet on lease

My father (expired last year) took flat for lease from a property management person. Said guy has taken lease from us and taken flat from actual owner on rent. Now he has absconded and actual owner is threatening to evict.
1. How to verify if the owner has sub lease agreement with the property manager
2. If an eviction is filed, do I have grounds to defend my possession as I will be out of money and flat.

File a complaint against such person and you will get ex-parte injunction order protecting your legal possession and landlord will be directed to evict you only through process of law that is by filing a suit for eviction against you.
