I am a central government employee living in staff quarters can I rent a house outside the campus while retaining the quarter

A.Dear client, the information provided is not enough to give proper legal advice. Please provide us with the field you are working in. Generally, before a staff quarter is allocated to an employee they are given the "Living Quarter Allowance" known as LQA, and when the quarter is provided the option to take it or not is available to the staff. Irrespective of the decision to take the quarter or not to take it the LQA is suspended after the option of the quarter is provided to the staff.

Legally there is no prohibition to retain the quarter and rent a house outside but the LQA will not be given by the government to you.
