Rent room change

I am a tenant for almost 35years.I am paying rent to the landlord by way of money order as he was not a gentleman to speak with and he receives my rent .My question is suddenly my landlord wants to change the geography of his building by way of installing exterior gates, installing new electric lines,and my doubt is he is somehow try to disturb my shop room.What is my duty as a tenant ?
