A.dear client in your case The judgments of the Apex court is the Law of the Land and they are applicable for all the lower courts including the Hon'ble High Court. After the lapse of the time period, an application for extension on reasonable grounds needs to be made, If thought fit then it might get extended.

A.Dear Client, the act of temporarily stopping proceeding through a order of a court is a 'Stay Order'. A Stay is a suspension of a case or a suspension of a particular proceeding within a case. A judge may grant a stay on the motion of a party to the case or issue a Stay Sua Sponte or Suo Motu without the request of a party. Courts will grant a stay in a case when it is necessary to secure the rights of a party.
1. There is no selected category of cases where a Stay is applicable.
2.After six months, one must again pray to that certain court for continuation of stay.

A.Stay order are mainly applicable cases or certain judgement of the lower courts or any act opposed to public policy. There is no specific cases or judgement where stay order is applicable every stay order depends on the merits of the case After 6 Months you need to further plead before the court to extend the stay order but it depends upon certain circumstances.
