Validity of marriage Validity of marriage

My friend aged 24 fell in love with a minor girl 16 years and in compulsive conditions got married in presence of relative.later after the girl attaining majority they registered their marriage which was performed in the presence of registrar itself.later disputes arose and she deserted him my friend filed rcr to reconcile with her but she filed a divorce petition stating she was a minor hence the marriage is invalid under CMPA and is claiming maintenance for herself and her unborn child.plz advice whether the marriage before registrar is a valid one though earlier one invalid due to minority of the girl.plz cite any cases to prove the marriage valid also.i would be very grateful

A.The marriage before registrar can be checked in their register. If it is there it is valid. But what reasons she cites not to come and live with him ?

A.Yes, when registered marriage took place when she attained majority. The marriage is valid. So, in order to get divorce she needs to give other grounds and not that she was minor.
