Job termination warning after maternity leave ends

I am an IT engineer in bangalore and work for Netapp. My maternity leave ended on 4th dec '19 and I had to join back on 5th but since my baby is just 4 months and creche does not admit a baby less than 6 months of age I requested to provide me some more unpaid leaves but the manager is harassing me by saying that if I dont join office in a week they will terminate me from this job.Is it legal to do so?

A.you are advised to rejoin after completion of maternity leave and apply afresh for the unpaid leave stating the reason of your child's age,
