Criminal case, caught by cops in murder case

What should a person do who had criminal background and spent two years in jail before.
But this time, he helped some one who he don't aware that had done and he given shelter by chance. But when cops come to him he run away but they caught him after two-three days later, now how can he come out of this and what output gonna be happen
