Dog Theft
My dog was stolen by a poultry farm owner. An evidence saw my dog in his premises with a chain but not tied. As the experts suggested here, I went to police station to file FIR under 378. But the culprit denied that he didn't tie any dog, only dog came into his premise. So the police denied to file an FIR on him. But the culprit told me on phone that his son had tied the dog and left afterwards as it attacked them( my bad luck I didn't record the phone call :( ). I am sure that was a story made by him, he didn't leave the dog. Its been almost 2.5 months since my dog is missing. In this case, Is there any way that I can go legally. Please help me how can I proceed?

Forward the complaint copy to the SP/DCP of the Police Station and if your complaint has not converted into the FIR then, file an application under Section 156(3) of CrpC before the Court. Also, to get away from the owner/care taker also amounts the cruelty to the dog and attract the provisions of Prevention of cruelty to animal as well as other section of IPC.

File a mandamus writ petition in High Court ordering the police to do their duty correctly. They will then locate the dog and bring it back to you.

You will have to take the issue up with senior police officers, they can command their juniors to take action and solve the crime.
