A.Hi,
according to 2016 Bye laws of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, all open spaces provided either in interior or exterior shall be kept free from any erections thereon and shall open to the sky. Nothing except cornice,
chhajja or weather shade (not more than 0.75 m. wide) shall overhang or project over the said open space so as to reduce the width to less than minimum required.
Thank You

A.Hi,
Each state has its own municipal building rules which allow or disallow the construction of weather shade. But according to the Bye-laws of the Ministry of Housing and urban affairs, all open spaces provided either in interior or exterior shall be kept free from any erections thereon and shall open to the sky. Nothing except cornice, chhajja, or weather shade (not more than 0.75 m. wide) shall overhang or project over the said open space so as to reduce the width to less than the minimum required.
