I've got a mail from my boss stating my salary will be on hold for15 days due to not giving proper answer on one of d project related question raised by our one of d director.

A.Hi,
Employers cannot hold back the salary on the basis of the performance of the employee. But it is advisable to check your employment agreement first, if it allows the employer to do so. Otherwise, a legal action can be taken against the employer and the company.

A.Hi,
Firstly, you need to check your employment agreement if it has any clause by which an employer can hold your salary on the basis of poor performance. Otherwise, you can file a suit against the company in the labor court. Thank you
