A.Hey,
There would be no FIR registered against your friend in this case as no essential to abetment to suicide under Section 306 of IPC is met in your case. As you have mention no serious provocation was caused by your friend to the boy to commit suicide.

A.Hi,
As per Section 306 of IPC abetment to suicide is punishable offence but abetment require a certain degree provocation to commit suicide but as you mentioned there was no certain provocation by your friend to commit suicide so there is no police case to be registered against your friend.

A.Police can record FIR at any stage.
