Caste over the Internet Caste over the Internet

Two pages on Instagram have commented tagging me abusive language towards me and my Caste and has also spread false information about my Caste and called me "Shudra girl" despite me belonging to Kshatriyas varna. They have also used disgusting words about my Caste for which I have the screenshot for. I would like to know the necessary legal steps I can take . Thankyou

A.Hi,
As per your narration it is a case of cyber-bullying. You can reach out to your nearest cyber-crime cell and file a complaint under S.507, 509 IPC for criminal intimidation through anonymous communication and also charge them under the provisions of IT act u/S 67 for publishing obscene material.

A.This is cyber bullying and amounts to cyber crime and defamation. If you know the person then you can take legal action against him. Send him a legal notice and speak to some lawyer if need be. First of all block him from all social media accounts for any further troubles.
