I have opted for credit card reversal and was not able to make the payment in stipulated time. with bank recovery agent assurance of the reversal time extended i made the complete payment, but still bank is asking for payment quoting that payment made was after the stipulated time. Now the recovery agent who contacted is not in system and i dont have any letter of extension also. After an year now bank has sent an legal notice for payments which already has been done.

A.Hi,
First and foremost, contact an attorney and respond to the legal notice by outlining all of the facts. The bank's position is additionally weakened by the long delay in issuing the legal notice, so you may try to negotiate your way out. Also, you can file a police complaint against the agent for fraud also.

A.Hi,
Since you have no supporting documents, which state that reversal time was extended your case is weak. First, and foremost consult with an advocate and send a reply to the legal notice to you detailing each and every facts. You can also try to negotiate with the bank. As there is a significant delay in issuing the legal notice, it undermines the bank's case also, so you may try to negotiate your way out.

A.Bank recovery agents are not the bank. Due to lack of documents your case is weak. However, as the time was extended. The first thing to do will be to reply to the legal notice in detail nullifying all claims and thereafter try settling the same.
Please note, the bank is also on the wrong foot as there is a delay of one year and they have initiated payments post such delay. All these latches can be an important part when you fight a case a good lawyer can turn this case in your favour wherein you do not have to negotiate or settle anything from the bank.
Thanks.

A.If that agent is not in the system and you made the payment after the stipualted time - these two facts are correct then the bank is right and you are on the weak foot. I would suggest that you try to negotiate with the bank and settle it down as over the period the payable amount will keep growing putting more burden on you.
