If a writ petition is pending in the High Court, can a writ petition be filed in the Supreme Court for the same subject matter by different parties?

A.dear client If for the same cause the parties are different then it can be filed.

A.Dear Sir,
Ordinarily it cannot be allowed, under article 32 of Constitution you may file a writ before SC after withdrawing WP from High Court.

A.In matters of writs also Supreme court is the appellate Court and it is not choice of parties to approach Supreme court first.

A.Your question is not so simple to answer unless the complete case facts are described. In general under the principle of "res judicata" one can not file two cases for same claim.
