Telangana ancestral land Telangana ancestral land

My great grandfather divided his ancestral property to his 3 sons(one of them being my grandfather) and 2 daughters. So now does the property become self acquired by my grandfather or is it still ancestral. And how many generations should it be passed down to be considered as ancestral property. Any advice is appreciated

A.hello
if the land was given to your grand father by your great grand father then it is the ancestral property and all your grandfathers child have share in it. Although your grandfather has all rights over the land as of self accquired.
Thanks

A.Hello
As per your information the your grandfather inherited the property from your great grand father that means it is the ancestral property. It was not a self accquired property of your grandfather. The moment it was inherited by your grandfather it was considered as the ancestral property. Although your grandfather is the absolute owner of that property and he have all right to sell or do anything with the property.
Thanks.

A.If that Partition was done in registered manner, then this property is no longer ancestral in the hand of your grandfather and it becomes self acquired.

Property if remains unpartitioned for last four generations through male lineage then that property will be considered as ancestral property.

A.Dear Sir,
After division it becomes self acquired property in the hands of your grandfather and he becomes absolute owner of the same and may sell it away or gift it away as per his wishes.
