What are the laws associated with minimum wages act, what if an employer issues an appointment letter and the labour who has no other source of income to feed his family with his consent agrees to work below the set minimum wages criteria of that state (NCT), will the worker still has the right to file a case against that employer in future?

A.Dear Sir,
You cannot fight individually against your employer if he violates criteria of minimum wages. You may visit the concerned office and update yourself about the existing minimum wages in NCT.

A.Hello
Yes it's the right of worker to ask for minimum wages and complaint against the employer if he doesn't pay the same. The complaint could be maid to the labour commissioner or the labour court. Therefore the worker still has a right to file a case against that emoloyer in future.
Thanks.

A.Hello
Offences of employers such as paying his employees less than the minimum wages fixed to his class of work or fails to pay them overtime wages and for work done by them on the day of rest, etc. is punishable under Section 22 of Minimum Wages Act, 1948 by imprisonment upto six months or fine or both.
