My father and his 2 brothers sold x acres of land to a person which they acquired from their mother after she died.(which she got from his father's share through partition suit) without our consent. Can we claim the land now as I have heard that property inherited from mother cannot be claimed since my father got the property from his mother.

A.Property inherited by your father from his mother cannot be considered ancestral property so your father and his brothers are entitled to sell their self acquired properties to any person of their choice and their legal heirs can't prevent them.

A.Hi,
You cannot claim any share in the property nor object to the sale of the land, as the property was a partitioned property, therefore it will be considered as the self acquired property of the mother. Since, it is not an ancestral property in nature, you do not have any rights.

A.Hi,
You have no right to claim share on the property. Since you are the grandson, grandsons or granddaughters have no right to inherit or claim any share in the property of the grandfather or grandmother if their own father or mother are alive. The grandchild does not have a birthright on the self-acquired property of the grandparent.
