Nuisance by neighbour and invasion of privacy through CCTV camera. Nuisance by neighbour and invasion of privacy through CCTV camera.

my neighbor is a nuisance and for the past 3 months there is a history of resentment for each other with them making allegations about me being nude in my bedroom which they claim to have seen from their balcony across the street even though they admit there is no evidence at their end to back their claim. Last week I came out wearing knee length bermuda pants and stood on my balcony for one minute and this cranky neighbor who usually never opens her mouth started trying to engage me in talk from her balcony across the street saying she is going to call police and asked me what I am looking at.I should have recorded this behavior from her side on my cell but forgot to do so.anyway she sent a police to my house who is a relative of hers.We had a long talk but I was not happy with him saying that he has asked the neighbor to point her street facing cctv towards my balcony and since i am not close enough to the camera i cant tell where exactly it is pointing but it certainly seems to now point towards some portion of the balcony in my hall/bedroom.Can the police guy who is their relative/friend authorize the neighbor to point their cctv towards my balcony of ha;/bedroom?This seems like a gross invasion of my privacy and i strongly question if this police man has the authority to give the neighbor permission to point their cctv at the balcony of my hall and bedroom?shall i ask my flat watchman to go tell them that i am not comfortable with their cctv being made to point at my balcony based on what their policeman friend/relative told them to do?i mean i should also be able to buy a cctv and point it their balcony right?im have a strong feeling that it is illegal to point cctv at someones home and am very surprised that their policeman relative told them to do so?

A.Hi,
Under Article 21 of the Constitution, every person in India has a right to privacy, and if you believe that your neighbour has infringed on this basic right, you can seek legal redress through the courts. In this case, you can file a complaint under section 268 of the Criminal Code. You can also file a police report saying that there is a suspicion of criminal activity or abuse.
Thank you very much.
