A.Hi,
The police conduct an investigation following the filing of the FIR, which may end in arrests. Once the investigation is complete, the police will write all of their findings in a Challan, or charge sheet. The case is taken to court if the charge sheet has adequate evidence. It takes time and is subject to change depending on the procedure.
Thank you very much.

A.Hi,
After FIR an investigation is carried out by the police, which may result in arrests. The police will document all of their findings in a Challan, or charge sheet, once the investigation is completed. If the charge sheet has sufficient evidence, the matter is taken to court. It takes time and depends on the process.
Thank you.

A.Hello Client,

An FIR can be lodged by any individual who has information about a cognizable offence taking place. The police officer in charge has to file an FIR irrespective of the gravity of the crime as long as it is a cognizable offence. Any police officer can lodge an FIR on his/her own if they come to know about the Commission of any cognizable offence.

Any person who has been refused the right to an FIR by the police officer in charge can send the substance of such information, in writing and by post, to the Superintendent of Police concerned who, if satisfied that such information discloses the commission of a cognizable offence, shall either investigate the case himself or direct an investigation to be made by any police officer subordinate to him, in the manner provided by this Code, and such officer shall have all the powers of an officer in charge of the police station in relation to that offence.

Thank You.

A.Dear client,

An FIR can be registered only in case of cognizable offences like murder, rape, theft, etc.
For a non cognizable offence like defamation, bigamy etc, FIR is not lodged.
Generally, the FIR is registered and then the police starts investigations .
If no proper or sufficient evidence is found, the FIR is cancelled there in.
We do not know much about the kind if FIR you wanted to register, so could not say much about it.
But if a police officer refuses to register an FIR you have the full right to write it to the superintendent of police and complain.

Thank you

A.It is necessary to know the fact in details otherwise legal opinion cannot be given. FIR cannot be entertained in all type of offences so it is necessary to know the nature of such offence and the evidentiary proof on your part.

A.What is the stage of investigation? Has police filed its final report? You can file complaint case as provided under section 156 (3) cr.p.c. seeking direction to the police to register FIR. You can also file WRIT in high court.
