Lost a leg in a building collapse Lost a leg in a building collapse

I lost my right leg above the knee in a building collapse happened in last October. My left leg also seriously injured,so i am in bed for almost an year.it might take 1 more year for me to start walking and get a prosthetic leg.

My neighbours building was demolishing ( they were my friends too).they asked me for helping them.but unexpectedly the building collapsed and i stuck under it.i lost my leg.and i was hospitalized for 4 months, still i am in bed.

I didnt filed a complaint against them.i want to complaint now( after 1 years).i have few questions if you can spare a little time of yours for advising me it will be very helpful.my questions are.....

1) can i file a complaint for compensation ( because it was happened accidently.they didnt do it intentionally)

2) where should i file a complaint? What is the procedure briefly.

3) approximately how much i can ask as compensation if i am eligible( because accident was not intentional.i was willing to help when the asked my help.but unaware of the danger)

A.Hello Sir
1. You have all rights to file a suit against your neighbours for compensation. But it would difficult to get as you helped voluntarily hut you could still ask for the medical expenses. You could initiate with filing a suit in the court. Also the amount of compensation would completely depends upon you, how much you claim.

A.Hello Sir
As you helped voluntarily there it would be difficult to win if you file a suit against them for compensation. Although you have the option to file a suit for compensation against them and claim compensation for all the medical cost occured in your treatment of your leg. You could file the suit in the district court of your city.
Thanks

A.Dear Sir,
My answers are as follows:

1) can i file a complaint for compensation ( because it was happened accidently.they didnt do it intentionally)
Ans: Yes, you can lodge complaint even now stating that you are under the impression that your neighbor may help you financially but till today they simply promised but not helped you sufficiently.

2) where should i file a complaint? What is the procedure briefly.
Ans: You can approach Police Station and also you can file civil suit claiming huge compensation.

3) approximately how much i can ask as compensation if i am eligible( because accident was not intentional.i was willing to help when the asked my help.but unaware of the danger)
Ans: The formula which is being used in Motor Vehicle’s Accident cases can be applied. As per that formula your monthly income, your age and other factors will be taken into consideration and approximately you may claim Rs.5 Lakhs to 50 Lakhs.
