Defaulting a Promissory Note Defaulting a Promissory Note

I've given 5 lakhs to a known person two years back and he has signed a promissory note (duly signed by him). He wanted that money to construct a School and also for his Son's marriage needs. As I am in need of money now, I've been asking him since 1 year. Everytime, he says I will adjust in next month. But since 3 months, that person is not at his house and his phone is also switched off. His family members say we don't know where that person is and they do not even have any contact with him. That person's Son is a software employee; his phone is ringing but not answering my call. I don't know where his son is working.

Please advise me on how should I proceed to get back my money.

A.Hi,
It is unfortunate that the person whom you have given your money too has absconded. However, since you have a promissory note which is valid, you can get your money back by approaching the court and filing a money suit. This will help you get your money back

A.If you have a valid promissory note in place then you can file a Money Suit in a civil court get back you money from them. Seek help of a lawyer to file a case. You may also try to file a summary suit to get quick justice done for yourself.
