I gave my house on Leave & Licence to a Licensee in August. The rent was payable in advance. He paid (though late) in August and September. Since October, he has not paid the rent. I have given him notice to vacate under the terms of the Agreement. He is neither paying the rent nor vacating the house.
What are the options before me. Apart from filing a civil suit, is there any criminal action possible against him?

A.Dear client,
You can send a legal notice and take this matter to rent and control board of your locality. You can also file a eviction suit if tenant did not pay rent intentionally and there is a delay of 15 days.
Thank You.

A.Dear Client,

Under Section 106 of the TP Act, the advocate can give him the notice to leave. No, because it is a civil matter, no criminal action can be taken against him. Lrt us know if you require any further clarifications.

Thank you!
