Requesting to delete sensitive financial document information from private corp.

Can I demand/request to erase or pull out my financial document details (E.g : PAN) from a private company which provides financial services If I am no longer using their benefits ? I just feel insecure to let my sensitive details to be stored in the directory of their data system. If Yes, I would be so great to know the legal procedure of bringing that process in action. If No, Could you please explain me so I can be satisfied with the justification.

India is yet to have a proper Privacy Law enacted and as per the news the discussions are on in the Parliament. In absence of such law you do not have much to do to ask or request those institution and it is upto them to delete or not on your request. Also as per the current KYC norms there institutions are required to have the details in their database so they can't delete as of now.
