If I don't stay for 6 months , my security deposit will not be returned.

If I sign a contract with my owner which mentions that if I don't stay for 6 months , my security deposit will not be returned.If I am unable to stay for 6 months due to the covid restrictions like lockdown or Because of rise in cases etc . Will the contract be still valid?

Its an absurd clause that if you do not stay then what can be done. It is not about staying but about paying the rent for six months. If i take a house on rent and keep paying the rent then regardless of staying or not it is a valid agreement. The landlord seems to seek excuse for not returning the money.
During COVID everyone has been so cooperative and understanding, it is expected the same from him.
