UP Tenancy Ordinance 2021- 7% rent hike UP Tenancy Ordinance 2021- 7% rent hike

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing to seek some legal advise on rent laws in uttar pradesh.

We have a tenant in our shop paying 65rupees per month since 1975. In Feb 2006, We lost a case against him in high court and high court decided the rent to be 500 per month. Then we filed another case on another basis ni lower court and tenant started depositing 500 rupees in court.

According to tenancy ordinance uttar pradesh 2021, rent can be increased 7% per year on commercial building so how do i calculate the current expected rent.

Can anyone please guide me here?

Thanks
Vishal

A.Dear Client,

As per the facts stated to calculate the currently expected rent you just add up to 7% of yearly rent and divide it by 12 for per month rent amount. For the exact calculation, I would suggest you to consult with a Chartered Accountant.

A.Dear Client
For calculation of the enhanced tenancy rent you need to visit a local chartered accountant who shall be able to guide you properly on that. If your tenant is not paying the calculated rent then you can get in touch with a lawyer to send legal notice and take proper action.
