Apartment Leakage - he resident of flat below us Apartment Leakage - he resident of flat below us

The resident of flat below us have leakage problems for which as flat owners residing above them, we have carried out various repair works as per their requirements for years. Recently, they had issued a letter to the society mentioning their leakage problems and holding us responsible for the same. Post which we again carried out the work as suggested by the professional only to realize the source of leakage to their flat is not from our flat but the flat above us. The same was communicated to the society and below flat owner followed by which we received a letter from their advocate to pay for their damages. Since the source of leakage was not from our flat, are we still responsible for any kind of payments to the below flat resident?
