If there has been misleading information and sell of land by unauthorized person then you can certainly lodge a police complaint. Withdrawing an FIR depends on lot of situations and stage of the case. There is a possibility but that has to be ascertained at the stage when you wish to withdraw. For example you can withdraw the complaint but once the FIR is lodged then you will find it difficult and has to be done by leave of the court.

A.Dear Client,

FIR once filed cannot be withdrawn under any circumstances. It can be converted into a Charge Sheet or can be disposed off vide a 'B' report by the Police (Law Enforcement) who can say there is no evidence to back a complaint. It can also be dismissed by orders of a court of law.
