Against Police - a person has filed FIR Against Police - a person has filed FIR

If a person has filed FIR and no action is being taken by Police, no investigation is happening. Despite being highlighted the issue to SI, SHO, ASP the case is lying idle. What should one do? How long should he/she wait after the date of registration of FIR.? Is there any minimum time limit on Police for carrying out investigation.?

A.Dear client, in my humble suggestion, you can approach the magistrate under section S. 156(3) for a fair investigation or you file an application under section 210 to the concerned magistrate for calling the progress report from the investigation officer. If nothing happens in that also, you can file a miscellaneous petition before the high court under section 482 for a fair investigation.
