Sir, I and my family are staying in my mother in law's house for the past 16 years, there are differences in opinion in our family, my mother in law wants me to leave the house, I am not willing to leave the house, my wife and major children are also against me, can they make a police complaint, can I demand a notice period, can I stay on road in front of the house,

A.file a civil suit for tenancy declaration on the ground of adverse possession as you had been living in the house for more than 12 years.

A.Dear client your mother in law is legal owner of the house so she have right on property. Kindly approach the Civil Court and get an injunction against your mother-in-law.go through local property lawyer

A.Dear client your mother in law is legal owner of the house so if she wants that u must vacate the house so u must vacate it. U r responsible to maintain your family. They can file Police complaint. There is no need of notice period. U can not block Public Road by staying before that house . Why u not tried to purchase a house for u and your family ? Better take another house on rent and sift there. No legal remedy is possible . It is a family dispute.
