Surname to addition to birth certificate
Hi I am Manjunath, I don't have my surname in of the documents but my father has surname, it has missed out from my schooling.. Now I want add my family surname to my daughter birth certificate, can add so even though I don't have surname and is there any legal complications in future for property transfer to her?
A.Dear Client
I don't see any issue in case you add the surname to your daughter's name and there should not be any legal issues later on as all the documents will be having your name and your wife's name which can easily identify your daughter.

A.Dear Client
Step 1: Obtain 'Birth Certificate Update/correction Form' the municipal corporation office or gram panchayat where your child took birth.
Step 2: Obtain an affidavit from local notary and approach the officer regarding change of name in the birth certificate.
I hope it helps

A.Dear sir,
It is very difficult to add such surname at this distant time. Because, u have to get changed all the academic records. It is better to file a Declaration suit and get an order from the civil court.
