Consumption of alcohol in Apartment Home Theatre area blocked for private party

Hello,
We have a home theatre in our apartments and we have to block the theatre (pay and use) to use it. Few residents pool in money and block the theatre for private get togethers and access is only allowed to those residents who have blocked it for the day/time and we bring our own booze and consume alcohol and no nuisance or any issues were reported so far. Recently moral policing started by a few residents and they argue that what is being done in the home theatre is illegal. Can you please provide your advice on what is right and what is wrong. Thank you in advance.
Every housing cooperatives/ apartments has their own set of rules and regulations. Drinking in public places is an offence, if its a private one and while such acts you have not disturbed anyone, it should not amount to any problem.
A lot of things are to be considered what was the purpose of creating the home theatre was consumption of alcohol included in it or not.
I advise you, along with other residents mutually solve this out via holding a meeting with the President and the Secretary of the said Housing/ cooperative.

If he does not cause any nuisance to other residence then it is not illegal. If majority of residence against such act then you have to discontinue.
