Name issue - birth name and official name

My father's birth name and official name is different. All his proof of identity is under new name. All of his ancestoral land assets is still in old name. We got some third party issue on the land and I am unable to prove his identity with the old name since we don't have any proof. In this case what shall I do. Does Changing name in Gazette now can help?

You need to get correct name published in the official gazette of India and also by publishing in any national newspaper and then that can be used as a proof to get rectified wrong name in all other relevant documents i.e. Aadhar Card, PAN card etc.
