Legal notice Legal notice

I was on a vacation in Goa and a reckless drunk driver almost hit my car at a very high rate of speed . When he stopped at the signal i persuaded him and out anger i had my hand on my collar but did not hit him or slap him. He retaliated with a tearing my shirt and also almost stabbing me with a sharp object. The situation was diffused and we came back to Bangalore. But now the person has sent a legal notice for assault. How do I proceed.I do have videos of him swerving in traffic and trying to hit my car again and again even after the situation was diffused.

A.Dear Sir,
You may lodge online complaint with Goa Police and also send complaint through Registered Post to the Commissioner of Police, Goa. You just neglect the legal notice sent by him as you have not received it.

A.Dear client,

You can use the video of him that you have as evidence to support your case.
Ideally you should contact a lawyer to respond to the legal notice in the most effective way.

However, there is no bar to responding to the notice. In this case, you should ideally deal with all the allegations contained in the notice para-wise, with your side of the story along with the videographic evidence you have

You should try and avoid making any admissions which would make you liable. Civil and criminal consequences can ensue from even an inadvertent admission of your liability.
