A.Dear Client,

As per the prospectus of the College, when hostel accommodation is not mandatory for the students, then if a student requested a vacation of hostel accommodation, the Principal can not disallow the request of the student outrightly. Such an action on the part of an educational institution is highly arbitrary and derogatory in nature. When the concerned University is not responding to the issue, you may approach the Chairman of the District Consumer Protection Council which is headed by the District Magistrate for redressal of your grievance amicably through mediation. A student when avail any service like hostel accommodation on payment of lodging and boarding charges to the College is a consumer as defined under Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the college is the service provider. So, reach out to the office of the Dist. Magistrate amd file an application requesting his intervention in the matter to resolve the matter amicably through mediation.

A.Dear client,

Review the college's policies: Carefully review the college's rules and regulations, particularly those related to hostel accommodation. Make sure you understand any contractual obligations or terms that may affect your ability to leave the hostel.

Document your requests: Keep a record of all your applications and requests, including any correspondence or proof of delivery. This documentation can be useful in case you need to escalate the matter or seek legal advice.

Communicate with the principal: If you have not already done so, try to schedule a meeting or have a conversation with the principal to discuss your concerns and reasons for wanting to vacate the hostel permanently. Clearly explain your situation and request a reconsideration of their decision. It may be helpful to have any supporting documentation or evidence to support your request.

Seek support from the university: If the college principal is unresponsive or unwilling to address your concerns, consider reaching out to the university administration or a relevant department within the university. Provide them with a detailed account of your situation, including the college's lack of response and the fact that the hostel is not mandatory according to the university's prospectus. Request their intervention and assistance in resolving the issue.

Seek legal advice if necessary: If your attempts to resolve the situation through communication and engagement with the college and university are unsuccessful, it may be advisable to consult with a legal professional who specializes in education or student rights. They can assess your specific circumstances, review any relevant contracts or policies, and provide guidance on the best course of action.
