Passport police verification failed

I had applied for a reissue of passport and during my police verification I was told that my file will be negative since I haven't stayed in the given address (Mumbai) for an year. And I was a resident of banglore before But I'm a newly wed I need to go abroad and stay with my husband I don't know what to do next. I'm not able get any information from the passport office on what should I do next. How do I justify my situation there's no response from the RPO either.

Once such a verification fails, you need to apply for the same once again. Would suggest you to go to the passport office speak to the concerned department explain the issue. Then speak to the police officer and narrate the entire thing. Then they shall fix up a date for another verification.
