Can an employee out of their own choice and willingness resume to the office before the completion of maternity leave? if yes, then please provide me with a precedent.

Since the office can not compel you to join during maternity leave, If you join the office at your own before the completion of your maternity leave period, your maternity leaves and other benefits automatically get cancelled.
