I am a local feeders and care giver. I have sheltered a stray dog in my house for an year now. He has cancer, where I have provided treatment. If I leave him alone on the road now others dogs fight with him and due to mating he can again develop cancer. For this reason I take him out for defecation in a lease. I live in an individual house so we walk on the KMC, municipal road. I have always cleaned the poop. As law says 'scoop the poor. But there are residents who are threatening me and my dog. They have also said that they are allowed to hit the strays. That they will hit me and my dog. I have complained to the local police station, when they came to the spot one of the police advised them to make a petition.
1. Am I breaking any law?
2. Can they do petition? They are not a association or a gated community. They have individual houses.

A.Hi client,
If you are responsibly, as a pet owner taking care of your pet and not disturbing anybody with any of your action, then they cannot threaten you.
Contact the local NGOs in your area who work for the animal welfare.
Record every misbehavior done towards you .

A.Dear Client,
Based on the information provided, it appears that you have been providing care and treatment to a stray dog with cancer. This can be seen as a compassionate act and in line with the principles of animal welfare. However, there may be specific regulations in your area that could impact your actions.

Regarding taking the dog out on a leash for defecation, it is generally expected and required by law to clean up after your pet to maintain cleanliness in public spaces. Failure to do so may be a violation of local municipal regulations or bylaws. These regulations may vary depending on the jurisdiction, so it is important to familiarize yourself with the specific rules applicable in your locality.

Concerning the threats and harassment you are facing from the residents, it is crucial to ensure your personal safety and the safety of the dog. Bullying, harassment, or causing harm to animals is unacceptable and can be criminal offenses under animal welfare laws. If you are facing threats or acts of violence, it is prudent to report this to the police and retain any evidence or documentation of the incidents.

As for the residents filing a petition, individuals have the right to file petitions concerning matters they feel strongly about, subject to the rules and procedures established by the relevant authorities. Whether they have a valid legal basis for their petition would depend on the specific content and nature of their complaint.
Thank you.
