A.Dear Client,
One single and common meter is allowed for a consumer and installed in the consumer's house and a single bill is generated against the consumption of energy on a terminal reading of meter in the name of a registered consumer irrespective of consumption of energy either singly or by jointly. If the consumer needs separate meters in the same building, he has to apply for the same to the concerned Electric Supply agency/board and based on your purpose and necessity they may allow and install separate meters in the same building for the generation of separate electric bills for the respective consumers. Usually, if the property is not jointly owned by the owners, separate meters are not allowed. You need to take up the matter with the concerned Electricity supply agency for clarification and steps.

A.Dear Client,
1. Determine ownership: Determine the ownership structure of the divided family units. Clarify who is responsible for the electricity bills for each unit. This may be based on the division of assets or any agreements reached during the family division process.

2. Separate connections: If each divided unit has separate electricity connections, ensure that the respective connections are properly registered in each unit's name. Contact the electricity service provider to update the ownership details and ensure that each unit receives individual bills.

3. Obtain consent: Ideally, all family members involved in the division should come to a mutual agreement on how to handle the payment of electricity bills. The agreement can be documented and signed by all parties involved to avoid any disputes in the future.

4. Sharing the expenses: Once ownership is determined and consent is obtained, the electricity bill payment can be divided among the units based on their ownership and consumption. This can be done in equal proportions or as per the agreement reached among the family members.

5. Payment methods: Determine how the bill payments will be made. Each unit may choose to pay their individual bills separately. Alternatively, a designated person can collect the total amount from all units and make a consolidated payment. Determine what method works best for your situation and ensure that payments are made on time to avoid any penalties or disruptions in service.

6. Document the payments: Maintain records of the electricity bill payments made by each unit. This will help in keeping track of the expenses and provide evidence in case of any disputes or discrepancies in the future.
Thank you.
