I was living in different state and studying there, I'm last time of studies I had bought a 2 nd motorcycle which got stolen. I went Police Station multiple times but they were not writing FIR after few days they came for spot verification and evidence also signed but they didn't gave me fir copy. When I returned to home the IO said you have to be present in court but I can't travel I am from humble background do not have money, He said that in that case he will dismiss this case and you be able to get insurance. I checked a month ago online that FIR is registered but I don't know the status, also I don't need any insurance money but I wanted to be safe in future. What shall I do?

I am the complainant.

A.Dear Client,
To avoid any future consequences arising out of missing missing motorcycle provided its ownership is transferred in your name, you must keep a copy of the FIR registered in the concerned Police Station. When you find the status of the said missing motorbike online that an FIR has been registered and the Police Station is not cooperating with you, then send an application addressed to the State Public Information Officer and the Officer-in-Charge of the said police station u/s.6(1) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 seeking a copy of FIR lodged against the missing of said motorbike and information with regard to the present status of investigation. The Application shall be sent by the Registered Post or Speed Post mentioning all the details of the missing motorbike and attaching an IPO of Rs.10/-(Application fee) putting your complete address in the respective column of the IPO. As per Sec.7(1) of the RTI Act, the SPIO shall respond to you within thirty days of receipt of the application. Keep a delivery record of speed post articles tracking the consignment status from the official website of India Post. In case, no reply or response to your said application is received from the SPIO, then you can send an Appeal before the Appellate Authority under Sec.19(1) of the RTI Act, 2005. As regards, your presence before the Court, until and unless a notice or summon from the Court is received by you, you need not appear before the Court as per verbal instruction of the IO of the Police Station. However, for any kind of unethical issue, you may hire the service of an Advocate of the concerned place to handle the matter.

A.Dear Client,
You mentioned that you saw online that an FIR has been registered. Try to obtain an official copy of the FIR from the police station where it was registered. This is your right as the complainant, and it's essential to have this document for future reference. Contact the investigating officer (IO) or the police station where the FIR was registered to get an update on the case's status. They should provide you with information about the progress of the investigation. If the IO mentioned that you need to be present in court, it's essential to make every effort to attend court proceedings as required. If travel is a significant obstacle for you, consult with your lawyer about possible options to address this issue, such as seeking permission from the court or exploring virtual court proceedings.
