A.Dear Client,
In India, it is mandatory to carry all the necessary documents while riding a vehicle. If any document is missing, the traffic police can issue a challan on the license and the vehicle owner. In this case, the person who was riding the bike should have checked the documents before riding the bike. However, if the documents were missing due to some unforeseen circumstances, the person can explain the situation to the traffic police. The traffic police may reduce the fine or waive it off if they find the explanation reasonable. It is advisable to get all the necessary documents in order as soon as possible to avoid any further legal complications. If it turns out that you were in violation of traffic laws, it might be in your best interest to pay the fine promptly to avoid any further complications. As per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, the owner of the vehicle is responsible for ensuring that all necessary documents are present and valid. However, if you were riding the bike with the owner's permission and were unaware of the missing documents, you may be able to plead ignorance in court.
