Domestic violence on mom by her son

My mother is been tortured by my younger brother who is 38yrs old
My dad has passed away 4yrs back
My brother does not work
:Abuses my mother
Picks things to hit her
Demands money
N my brother is alcoholic he is stealing and selling things from home
My mother is trying to put her house on rent but he isn't letting her do that ,pls can u help my mom is 72 yrs old and is very sick she needs urgent help

Your mom has a legal remedy against physical and mental harassment under the Senior Citizens Act and any person harassing senior citizens can be brought under Section 506 of the Indian Penal Code for criminal intimidation. Your mother shall file a complaint regarding the abuse and proceed with the case.
Apart from that if the house belongs to your mother she can tell the younger son to leave the house and be separated from him as he won't be able to claim any rights over the property.
